Cardinals' Warner considers retirement (AP)
submitted by Chris Pink 1 hour ago (via us.rd.yahoo.com)
Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner says that after this season he will take his closest look yet at retiring from the NFL. The scary injury to teammate Anquan Boldin, combined with other factors, has led him to give more serious consideration to leaving the game. "I'm definitely considering retirement more than I ever have before," the 37-year-old quarterback said Monday, "but that doesn't.

submitted by Chris Pink 1 hour ago (via us.rd.yahoo.com)
Buffalo Bills quarterback Trent Edwards was described as alert but still experiencing post-concussion symptoms Monday, leaving his status uncertain as the team enters its bye week. Coach Dick Jauron sidestepped questions regarding the quarterback's health, except to say that Edwards showed up at the Bills' headquarters a day after being slammed to the ground on the third play from scrimmage during

Colts expect Freeney, Gonzalez to be OK (AP)
submitted by Chris Pink 1 hour ago (via us.rd.yahoo.com)
Colts coach Tony Dungy does not appear overly concerned with the injury to three-time Pro Bowler Dwight Freeney. "He strained something in his leg on the first fumble, but he went back in for about five or six plays," Dungy said of the defensive end, who was hurt during Indianapolis' win over Houston on Sunday.

Saints brace for Vikings' Peterson (AP)
submitted by Chris Pink 3 hours ago (via us.rd.yahoo.com)
Power running, anyone? Adrian Peterson and Deuce McAllister both have a knack for inflicting pain on tacklers, turning nothing into something and wearing down defenses. Whether their teams rely on them to the same extent when the Minnesota Vikings visit the New Orleans Saints on Monday night is another matter.

Quitting questions irk Lions' Marinelli (AP)
submitted by Chris Pink 3 hours ago (via us.rd.yahoo.com)
The Detroit Lions will have to fire Rod Marinelli if they don't want him to be their coach. Marinelli bristled at the thought of possibly quitting when the option was suggested Monday, a day after Detroit fell to 0-4 this season and an NFC-worst 10-26 since he was hired in 2006. "Just you saying that to me, I would take that as a personal insult," Marinelli said to a reporter.

Coach Lewis: I'm committed to Bengals (AP)
submitted by Chris Pink 3 hours ago (via us.rd.yahoo.com)
Marvin Lewis doesn't plan to leave one of the NFL's safest coaching jobs. The Cincinnati Bengals coach said Monday the team's worst start in six years hasn't diminished his commitment to getting it turned around. A 31-22 loss at Dallas left Lewis' team at the bottom of the league, the only one with an 0-5 record.

Big Ben withstands blitzes, bad shoulder (AP)
submitted by Chris Pink 3 hours ago (via us.rd.yahoo.com)
Never before had the Pittsburgh Steelers done this: ask Ben Roethlisberger to win a game virtually by himself. They always had Jerome Bettis, Willie Parker or Hines Ward, a line led by All-Pro guard Alan Faneca, and one of the NFL's best defenses to take the pressure off their quarterback. Win the game?

Oakland Raiders News: A Few Quick Hits
submitted by Chris Pink 3 hours ago (via silverandblackpride.com)
- It is "Saints" Week, so I'm hoping that it is Saint's Week.- I Loved how Jack Del Rio, a real coach and a real man at that, asked for his owner's blessing before demoting Byron Leftwich and promoting David Garrard. That is how it is supposed to be done. (Note to Kiffin...Especially when it's in your contract)- The roster is apparently all systems GO for the game on Sunday, which means that, Smas
